Former sites

AnemoneProjectors I do not see the logic of your reversion. There are other former sites - see for example Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust#Sites formerly managed by the Trust. A Trust's sites change as it negotiates, or fails to negotiate, management agreements with public and private owners. The effect of your change is to freeze the list to be the sites which were managed by the HMWT when the template was created, which is arbitrary. Dudley Miles (talk) 21:25, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Adding the other five articles to the template wouldn't be too difficult though. I just didn't think to check if there were others, that's all. To me, it doesn't seem right to remove something from a navigation template just because something has changed. Yes there's a list, but while there's a navbox, why not make it complete? If it was a TV show navbox with a list of presenters, former presenters would still be listed. I can't think of any other examples at the moment. Incidentally, another editor, User:Chiswick Chap, "thanked" me for the edit I made to the template, so I wonder what his take on it is. AnemoneProjectors 21:49, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I see I did not look closely enough. I assumed you had reverted, and did not see you had created a new heading for former reserves. If the other former reserves are added, I think that would be fine. Dudley Miles (talk) 22:17, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh ok, not to worry thenĀ :-) The other option for former sites is to put them in their respective districts/boroughs and make them italic, with a note at the bottom saying that means they are no longer managed by HMWT (I've seen italics used on other navboxes for similar situations). I currently live near Pryor's Wood so I'll be interested to see if anything changes, though I suspect not since NHDC manage the land and woodland adjacent to it already... Categories

I have added this to Category:London navigational boxes as it covers areas in London (and some other Middlesex templates are included in that category). Dunarc (talk) 22:59, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
