Seems fairly straightforward. Done. - auburnpilot talk 20:33, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

not really a User warning template

{{

{{
RPA}} is not a user warning template, but a notice that a comment has been removed from a discussion, as such it does not belong in the Category:User warning templates, but instead perhaps in Category:Talk namespace templates if at all. --Storkk (talk) 17:05, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply

Short Description Needed

{{

}}

This template doesn't give context as to use and user. Even one sentence would be better than as is. How about:

Personal attacks should never be used in Wikipedia. This template allows an editor to remove personal attacks without removing context or completely deleting a comment.”

Anything is more helpful than nothing. Well not anything, but those two sentences are better than nothing. Beam 04:27, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

possible revision and expansion of the template

an idea: it would be easy enough to revise this template so that it uses a span block to hide the material rather than simply replacing the material, and that might make the template useful for more than simple personal attacks. the code would be:

<span><small>(comment refactored)</small></span><span style="display: none">{{{1|}}}</span>

and would in practice look like this:

good front text {{RPA|This is some shitty thing that someone said}} good back text

producing

good front text (comment refactored)This is some shitty thing that someone said good back text

comments? --Ludwigs2 22:58, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

actually, never mind. I went ahead and created the template at {{nono}}. --Ludwigs2 04:35, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sync with sandbox. This adds a "plural" parameter. CLYDE TALK TO ME/STUFF DONE 15:12, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It looks reasonable, but please show your work on the testcases page. Thanks. – Jonesey95 (talk) 20:08, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Change the short description to something literate or just a standard one like "Wikimedia Template". "Template for removal personal attack" almost is patent nonsense. Maybe something like "Template for removing personal attacks." v/r - Seawolf35 T--C 17:50, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

 Completed – just fyi this was not actually a "short description"; it is found in the "Page information" and is called a "Central description". Central descriptions are generated by Wikidata, so you could have edited it yourself. For the future, click on "Wikidata item", usually in the left margin, then alter the "Description" on that page. Best to you!
