History

An earlier museum was originally located in

Mehmet I (r.1413-1421).[1] The bedesten is on Sulusokak street in the Camii Kebir quarter[1]

The museum exhibits

The archaeology section of the museum houses

Koran of 1191, from the Anatolian Seljuks era. There are also examples of ceramics. Two rooms of the museum exhibit hand-painted kerchief manufacturing and copper works, two of the popular crafts of Tokat during the Ottoman Empire.[2]
