History

Trimble was named after J. M. Trimble, a railroad official.[4] The city was originally called Carpenter's Store; the town site was platted and present name adopted when the railroad was extended to that point.[4] A post office called Carpenters Store was established in 1858, and the name was changed to Trimble in 1899.[5]

Trimble is located In the southwest corner of the county. It lies on

Little Platte River lies one mile to the east.[6]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.50 square miles (1.29 km2), all land.[7]

The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 2.93.

The median age in the city was 37.3 years. 24.5% of residents were under the age of 18; 9.6% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 25.3% were from 25 to 44; 28.7% were from 45 to 64; and 11.9% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 51.1% male and 48.9% female.
