LMS International is an innovative engineering company working in partnership with companies in the automotive, aerospace and other advanced manufacturing industries.[1]

LMS offers a combination of 1D and 3D simulation software, test systems and engineering services focused on attributes such as system dynamics, structural integrity, sound quality, durability, safety and energy consumption. Thanks to its multi-domain solutions specializing in the behavior of thermal, electrical and mechanical systems, as well as fluid dynamics, LMS addresses the issues inherent in the design of intelligent systems.

History

Since its creation in 1980 as a spin-off from the Catholic University of Leuven (K.U. Leuven), LMS International has grown from a niche company to become a world market leader in test and simulation software and consultancy services for the mechanical engineering industry.

LMS International employs over 800 highly qualified staff, holds ISO9001 certification for all its activities, and has no fewer than 30 subsidiaries worldwide, notably in Europe, the USA, Japan and Asia.[2]

In June 2007, LMS acquired Imagine, a company founded 20 years earlier in 1987 by Pierre Guérin and Michel Lebrun for the design and control of complex dynamic systems with AMESim, simulation software for the modeling and analysis of 1D multi-domain systems.

In August 2011, LMS International acquired the Walloon company Samtech, a ULg spin-off that develops and markets Samcef finite element software.[3]

In November 2012, Germany's Siemens acquired LMS International, including its products in its PLM suite.[4]
