Jeffrey Koo Jr (born July 31,1964) is a Taiwanese entrepreneur and the eldest son of the Koo family of Lukang, one of the five families of Taiwan. He is currently the chairman of the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association, the board of CTBC Financial Holding, and the de facto financier of the CTBC Brothers baseball team.[1]

Life

Koo's relationship with his spouse Luo Huei Ling was once opposed by his family due to the fact that Luo was a normal flower girl. Eventually, his family compromised.[2]

In 2010, while on the run in Japan due to the Red Fire Incident, Koo had an affair with his secretary Jean Chian, who gave birth to a daughter.[3] In 2014, Chian had another son. In September 2016, Koo divorced Luo.[citation needed]

On May 19, 2018, the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association was re-elected. Koo was elected as the first baseball association chairman to own a professional baseball team, and assumed his position on July 1.[4]

In July, 2022, Taiwan held the fourth World Baseball Softball Confederation and WBSC Asia congress for the first time. During the convention, Koo was unanimously elected to succeed Tom Peng as the new President of WBSC Asia and the Executive Vice President of WBSC.[5]
