Braindad is an Arlington, VA band formed in 2012. A band member described their music as "a combination of Western tones, Eastern rhythms, and African Timbre, all under the guise of rock and roll." The band was originally composed of multi-instrumentalists John Hoegberg, Rhys Davis, and David Constine, but grew to include Kyle Nesbitt and Andrew Fleckenstein.

Mr. Raspados' Hot Dogs EP and Formation

The album Mr. Raspados' Hot Dogs was recorded in February 2012 by John Hoegberg, Rhys Davis, David Constine, and Kyle Nesbitt, future members of Braindad. Throughout 2011 and 2012, John Hoegberg had been working on his seminal "Sentinel Discharge" recordings, while David Constine was recording as "Massage Jeff Saturday". Rhys Davis was making music under the title of "The Lovable Cabinets", and Nesbitt was working as "The Soft Drink Legends". "Mr. Rapados' Hot Dogs", an album about an adolescent boy's struggles with vended meat, was conceived by John Hoegberg and David Constine. Hoeberg and Constine initially were to employ Rhys Davis and Matei Gaginsky as musicians. However, complications halted Gaginsky from joining. After much discussion, Kyle Nesbitt was convinced to join for the recording session. Recording took place as David Constine's family home in Arlington, VA. The EP was released on February 20th, 2012 to much acclaim, making waves in the Arlington, VA High School and Junior High School music scene. However, "My Raspados' Hot Dogs" soon disbanded.
