Legion of doom [1]

The Legion of Doom is a

The Ohio State University district of Columbus, Ohio. It has often been the site of punk shows, although it has never been limited only to shows of the punk genre. The Legion of Doom has had a rotating host of tennants since its "founding" whose collective beliefs largely influence the "house rules" under that given roster. The house rules have always imposed a straight edge
ethic of no drugs, alcohol, or smoking at shows -- making them accessible to all ages. At times there were more censures such as limiting the types of bands that could play, type of clothing that could be worn, among others in attempt to eliminate any potentially hostile environment for show attendees. In the late 1990s, the notion of political correctness or "P.C." was often used as justification for such decrees as "no black metal shirts" due to some black metal bands being aligned with Neo-nazi and racist underpinnings.

The house was named from 2 traditions; The first being in the punk house fashion so as to establish it as a venue and the second in the Columbus fad for naming houses so as to avert naming all household tennants. Other notable OSU punk houses of the past and present include: The Neil House, The Indiana House, The Figure Four, Bébé's Kids, Surf City/Compton, Camp David, The Stink House, The Monster House, among others.
