please use the built-in email system (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:E-mailing_users) to contact me in private. if you have some other preferred platform, please ask by email and i will be happy to let you know if that's amenable. i do also use irc, xmpp, matrix, and activitypub, but you will need to try the email before i hand out those addresses.

i don't understand barnstars. the double-curly-bracket syntax is kind of a mystery. i haven't read all the policies. help me out here: i'm trying to help out. if i'm a problem let me know. i think i take criticism better than most.

i feel like this should go without saying, but i just want to bare my chest here a moment and say i am a human being. i do things besides edit wikipedia, and i have feelings that can be hurt. i hate that i feel i need to say this, but the internet has become more hostile than it once was, and i just wanted to make sure folks read this before giving me what-for.
