While I have many interests, my current (for the past four or five years) hobby & passion involves gathering information on institutions of higher education that have closed or changed their names....then offering this information on the web as a resource for anyone interested.

Someone once said that "history" is the story of the victors and this is certainly true with the history of higher education. Our group image of a university now tends to involve thousands of people...massive sports events...capital intensive research facilities. We all tend to forget that not too long ago, colleges were typically very small...just a few faculty and some students.
