I am Bert Wang-Chak Chan from Hong Kong, a big data and software engineer, and an independent researcher on artificial life, currently collaborating with Inria. I use computer simulation to study evolution, the definition and the origin of life, emergence, and agency.

I make infographics and illustrations that summarize complex ideas (often scientific, sometimes highly speculative). I also make award-winning East Asian typefaces.
