Olek Aleksander Borsuk (Alex)(born 1954) is a Canadian artist and nature photographer.

Born in Zutphen, The Netherlands, to Jesse Borsuk (father - Russian/Polish) and Henny Klaasen (mother - Dutch - teacher), he came to Canada as an infant of less than a year old. He was always interested in ART and spent many childhood hours drawing dinosaurs, his first big interest. Even in Elementary School his drawings were good enough that his teacher would photocopy them and distibute them to the other children as reference. This led to the School sponsoring him to attend Art classes at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Alex disliked the 'Art Classes', because he wanted to learn how to paint and cutting out pictures from magazines and glueing them back together again did not satisfy his desire. He would eventually learn on his own.

Having spent his first 20 years almost exclusively sketching with pencil, he finally took up painting when a friend of the family bought him some paints.
