Electrum is a technology and consulting group operating in renewables (RES)[1], dealing with energy, industry and construction field facilities, as well as the development and implementation of alternative energy sources[2].

The company implements complex projects within renewable energy sources in EPC formula[3]. The projects commissioned in this formula include:

  • wind farms[4],
  • solar parks[5],
  • integration of systems in the area of ​​automation, power engineering and information technology[6],
  • electrical installation networks[7].

Electrum employs over 180 employees[8]. Its president is Miroslaw Poplawski.

The group is part of the RIGRID project[11], thanks to which intelligent distributed energy tools have been installed in rural areas in Poland and Germany[12]. The goal was to increase the efficiency of the electricity infrastructure[13]. The project concerning Polish areas has been implemented in Punsk in 2016–2018[14]. The project is intended to reduce CO2 emissions by 80% by 2050 and to develop local ecological smart grids[15].

The company is one of the co- founders of MESH4YOU project (Multi-Energy Storage Hub)[16], assuming the transformation of energy systems towards a low-emission economy in several countries: Poland, Germany, Italy and Switzerland[17]. On the Polish side, the company is implementing a demonstrator project aimed at developing and demonstrating solutions with multiple energy storage centers[18].

History

The group has been operating in Poland since 1997, initially dealing with electrical installations. Another undertaking was the performance of the contract as the General Contractor in the BoP formula, the so-called Balance of Plants in the area of the renewable energy market[19]. Within the next years the company has changed the profile of activity from an engineering company to a technology company with engineering competences, research and development department and after-project care department[19].
