Folks Huxford (November 16, 1893 - March 21, 1981) was a Superior court judge, jurist, author, and historian from Georgia.

Born in

admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1920 and later held the offices of Clerk to the Ordinary, Deputy Court Clerk, Clerk to the first County Commission, Justice of the Peace, Solicitor of the County Court, Clerk of the Superior Court, State Representative, Postmaster, City Councilman, Judge of County Court, all of Clinch County

, and became Judge of Superior Court of the Alapaha Judicial Circuit in 1956.

He served as editor for The Lanier County News during the 1920s and in 1926 owned and published The Clinch County News.

He authored History of Clinch County, Georgia ISBN 1145218865 in 1916. He began History of Brooks County, Georgia ISBN 0871522845 in 1948 and later wrote Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia Volume 1-12, Indian Troubles in Wiregrass Georgia, and Marriages and Obituaries from Early Georgia Newspapers. He also founded Georgia Genealogical Magazine. He was a national Historian General for the Sons of the American Revolution.

The Huxford-Spear Genealogical Library and Huxford Genealogical Society in Homerville, Georgia are named in his honor.^[1]
