About Me

Hello there!

I'm an employee at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. I personally do a large amount of work with the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, which is why I am here.

I've been asked by the Office of EERE to update the

EERE
article here on Wikipedia.

That's probably a little scary, but don't worry. I'm perfectly aware of the Conflict of Interest guidelines and the problems associated with it. So here's my plan of action!

How I'm Complying with
The Conflict of Interest Guidelines

  • I'm not going to edit the
    EERE
, I'll ask someone else to do that, and only after other people have had a chance to work on it and decide it's good to go.
  • I've cited everything I could, and pushed to remove any information that couldn't be directly cited. If anything with my draft doesn't meet Wikipedia standards, please tell me. Or make the changes yourself. I just want to make sure the article is appropriate.
  • Most of my experience on Wikipedia is editing as an IP--I used to do a lot of spot-editing and grammar fixes on history articles--so I'm aware of the general rules and guidelines. I've never written an article, though, so please tell me if I muck up anything.

Anyway, I'm open to everything at all. If I do something wrong? Please tell me! I'm here to update content, not push an agenda, and I'm open to any comments, suggestions, recommendations or anything at all.

The EERE Draft

As mentioned above, I'm working on a new version of the

Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
article, as the present one is out of date and unreferenced. This is the current draft I'm working on.

I still need to add the table, but I'll need to do some digging to learn how to do that. So this is still in progress.

Proposed Draft for the new EERE page

Please add what you have to mainspace. It doesn't need to be perfect and you can work on it there. Johnfos (talk) 00:36, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
