Arnold and family

  • Arnie (voiced by Grant Hoover) is Arnold's creepy cousin who lives in countryside. He likes to collect lint, count things, and read the nutrition facts on the back of food cartridges.
  • Grandma Gertie (voiced by
    Phil
    , runs the Sunset Arms boarding house. She has a habit of mixing up holidays in holiday episodes of the show, and often wears strange outfits and does strange behavior.
  • Stella (voiced by Antoinette Stella) is Arnold's mother

Gerald and his family

Gerald Johanssen (voiced by Jamil Walker Smith) is Arnold's best friend. He and Arnold have known each other since pre-school. He also has a good deal of knowledge of many legendary stories in the city. His distinct features include tall, Kid 'n Play
-style hair (earning him the nickname "tall hair boy" from Helga), and a red t-shirt with the number 33 on it.

  • Jamie O. Johanssen (voiced by Ben Aaron Hoag and Phil LaMarr is Gerald's older brother, who causes trouble for him.
  • Martin Johanssen (voiced by Rick Fitts) is Gerald's somewhat strict father. Martin often complains about wasting electricity.
  • Mrs. Johanssen (voiced by Shari Belafonte) is Gerald's kind mother, she keeps the family together
  • Timberly Johanssen (voiced by Avriel Epps) is Gerald's little sister. She is usually causing trouble due to her desire for attention or naturally childish behaviour.

Helga and her family

Helga Pataki (voiced by Francesca Marie Smith
) is a classmate of Arnold's. She has a secret crush on Arnold but hides it by bullying him. Helga is something of a tomboy, as evidenced by her interest in playing contact sports alongside her male classmates, blatant lack of femininity, and disregard, to near dislike, for stereotypical female behavior. She is inteligent, but not as smart as her sister, Olga, who her parents will always compare her to.

  • "Big" Bob Pataki (voiced by Maurice LaMarche) is Helga's father, a successful pager salesman. Bob rarely notices Helga and often criticizes her for not being more like her over-achieving sister, Olga
  • Mariam Pataki (voiced by Kath Soucie) is Helga's mother. she is depressed, forgetful, and often struggles to stay conscious.
  • Olga Pataki (voiced by
    Nika Frost
    ) is Helga's sister. She is an over-achieving student. Helga is jealous of Olga's image of perfection and the attention she receives from both Big Bob and Miriam.

Sunset Arms boarders

  • Mr. Hyunh (voiced by Baoan Coleman) came to this city from Vietnam to look for his daughter, whom he sent here at the end of the Vietnam War over 20 years ago. He works at El Patio restaurant.
  • Oscar Kokoshka (voiced by Steve Viksten) is a lazy man who is only concerned about himself. Throughout most of the series, he is jobless, except he had a paper route for a few episodes. He is

  • Susie Kokashka (voiced by Mary Scheer) is Oskar's wife and the source of his money. She works at a department store.
  • Ernie Potts (voiced by Dom Irrera) runs a wrecking crane for a demolition company. He's knocked down about 500 buildings, and keeps a piece of each one in his room.
  • Mr. Purdy (voiced by Joseph Purdy) was a boarder during the first season only.
  • Mr. Smith is a mysterious person who never speaks to the rest of the boarders (in the first season only).

Arnold's classmates

  • Herald Berman (voiced by Justin Shenkarow) is the bully of the group. He is known to eat a lot. He is not intelligent (He is 13 years old and still in the fourth grade).
  • Brainy (voiced by Craig Bartlett) is one of the geeks in the class. He breathes loudly, and is often breathing on Helga while she thinks about Arnold, her love. She will proceed to punch Brainy in the face.
  • Thaddeus "Curly" Gammelthorpe (voiced by Adam Wylie, Haley Joel Osment, Steven Hartman, and Michael Welch) is the class psychopath.
  • Phoebe Heyerdahl (voiced by Anndi L. McAfee) is Helga's best friend. Helga often makes Phoebe her own personal slave, as Phoebe is too nice to resist obeying her every whim. Phoebe is the smartest student in the class.
  • Eugene Horowitz (voiced by Christopher J. Castile, Jarrett Lennon,
    Ben Diskin
    , and Blake Ewing) is the class jynx and one of the geeks. His fortune is so awful, he seems to be the exception to Arnold's rule that "every dork has his day." However, no matter how bad the accident looks, the first thing you hear is "I'm okay."
  • Iggy (voiced by Joseph Ashton, Sam Gifaldi, Tress MacNeille, Justin Shenkarow, and Marcus Toji) was the coolest kid in the class, until everybody found out he wore bunny pajamas.
  • Rhonda Wellington Lloyd (voiced by Olivia Hack) considers herself to be the coolest and most fassionable student in school.
  • Lorenzo (voiced by Victor Cohn-Lopez) is a new kid in Arnold's class, having transferred from a private school. Lorenzo is quite rich, but has very little idea of how to have fun
  • Nadine (voiced by Lauren Robinson) is a nature expert. Her and Rhonda are best friends.

  • Lila Sawyer (voiced by Ashley Buccille) was a new student at Arnold's school, having moved from Pleasantville, a farming community. Helga calls Lila "Little miss perfect" and Arnold has a crush on her.
  • Stinky Peterson (voiced by Christopher Walberg and
    Toran Caudell
    ) is the tall, thin, southern boy. He is best known for his southern drawl and his use of the word "bites" (usually with "this" or "this really" put before it).
  • Sheena (voiced by Francesca Marie Smith) is one of the geeks although what she does to deserve this title is never really mentioned, except that she shows off her "scab in the shape of Texas."
  • Sid (voiced by Sam Gifaldi and Taylor Gifaldi) is a boy with a long nose that appears to come from his forehead. He is fashionable and known to sometimes be paranoid.
  • Joey Stevenson (voiced by Justin Shenkarow and Michael Fishman) is a kid with a missing tooth.
  • Torvald (voiced by Michael Bacall) is thirteen years old and has been in fourth grade for four years.
