George Woodson

George Henry Woodson (December 15, 1865–July 7, 1933)

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).[1][2]

Woodson was born Wytheville, Virginia three days before the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery in the United States. He enlisted in the 25th Infantry of the US Army in 1883, claiming to be 21 years old. He was discharged in 1888.

Woodson earned a bachelor's degree from the Virginia Normal & Collegiate Institute. He graduated from Howard University Law School in 1895.
