If you are considering initiating an {{xfd}} on material I started

If you are considering initiating an xfd on material I started:

  1. I am a reasonable person, dedicated to compliance to all the wikipedia policies, guidelines, and established conventions;
  2. Like all the rest of us, I am fallible, you may have come across an instance of a genuine policy lapse on my part;
  3. I have been active on the wikipedia for a long time, our policies have undergone considerable change since then, what looks like a flagrant violation of policy may have complied when I started it;

If you draw my attention to something that I agree is a genuine lapse, and all edits to it by other people were corrections to spelling, grammar, punctuation, or the addition of meta-information, then I believe I am entitled to apply a {{

db-author
}} to that material, which would save everyone time and drama.

I request you consider skipping the nomination, and inform me of your concern first. I'll apply that {{

db-author
}} -- or discuss a fix if that seems appropriate.
