SILAKARI FAMILY

Silakari not a very common last name, in fact only my family and a few of my relatives carry the last name Silakari. Basically from Sagar (MP) some of us have migrated a few miles to places like Bhopal & Vidisha. Although with some exceptions most Silakaris have settled in MP. We are Bhargava Brahmins and most of our ancestors were priests at temples in and around Sagar. Details of our origin are given in an ancient book named “Bhargavuttpatti” meaning origin of the Bhargavs.

Now something about my family which is based at Bhopal. Headed by my father Shri VK Silakari, my mother Smt Pratibha Silakari, my wife Poorva Silakari, my daughter Kuhoo and my sisters Swati Silakari (Dube), Richa Silakari & Anju Silakari (Mukherjee). Swatidi is married to Mr RK Dube and they are blessed with Vihan (Pinaki) & Vanya (Chhutki). Anjudi is married to Mr Sandeep Mukherjee and they are blessed with Oli (Chunmun)and Ira (Gungun). And finally the last and most important member of the family that’s me Harshit. I did my B.E. in 2002 and after working in the telecom sector with the Ambanis, TATAs & Birlas I have decided to work with the Russians (MTS) (Note: These names are not as big when it comes to pay scales :-( ).
