After showing promise with four goals in a home win against Ottawa, Forge FC fell back into a couple of problems that have plagued them most of the season: not scoring goals despite lots of ball control, and surrendering some late-game scores. Forge was beaten 2-1 in Halifax on Friday, surrendering a first-half goal by Massimo Ferrin before captain Kyle Bekker hit fantastic strike on a layoff from Tristan Borges in the 88th minute. But Daniel Nimick's penalty kick in the 10th minute of injury time gave Halifax the win. Forge has 19 points from 14 games and stands third in the CPL, one point behind No. 2 York, who they are visiting in Toronto on Sunday. They're just a point up on Cavalry and two points up on Halifax, with both teams having two games in hand. League-leading Pacific, with 25 points from 12 games, is the only team not tightly bunched with the others.
