Julie DiCaro

Julie DiCaro is a

freelance journalist. She has previously worked for Sport's Illustrated, WGN Radio and is the founder of Aerys Sports, the only sports website run entirely by women.[1]. She frequently writes and reports on women's issues in sports, such as rape, domestic violence and sexism in sports media[2]

DiCaro has gained a reputation as an authority on internet trolls when she participated in a viral video called #MoreThanMean. The PSA video produced by Just Not Sports with ESPN's Sarah Spain exposed the abundant and vile online harassment of women in sports media receive. During the peak of reporting on the sexual assault of Blackhawks star Patrick Kane, DiCaro received threatening messages that forced her to take a day off work[5]. DiCaro used her legal background to report as an expert in the investigation[6].
