Muskrat edit

The 1906 event in question was attended by more than two thousand people and is a significant reflection of the species' cultural and historical significance. Can you offer some discussion of this on the article's talk page? I believe this would be appropriate.

I originally sourced it to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, which I located via Factiva, but another editor found an online account of the event (and lyrics) at the Monroe, Michigan, historical society which offers the opportunity to include a fuller treatment in the future. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Calamitybrook (talkcontribs) 03:58, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Jerry, here's an interesting quote about Wikipedia from the March 20 edition of New York Review of Books.

And the pile grew and everyone jumped up and down in it having a wonderful time. And it grew some more, and it became the biggest leaf pile anyone had ever seen anywhere, a world wonder. And then self-promoted leaf-pile guards appeared, doubters and deprecators who would look askance at your proffered handful and shake their heads, saying that your leaves were too crumpled or too slimy or too common, throwing them to the side. And that was too bad. The people who guarded the leaf pile this way were called "deletionists."

I really suggest you look at this article. http://www.nybooks.com/articles/21131

Help

Hello, I need help, how do I report people to administrators because of vandalism?

User_talk:132.61.176.6 has made many unhelpful edits and has been seriously warned before.

No problemo. Ask and you shall receive. --Cubs Fan (talk) 05:21, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Ollabelle track listing

Just wondering why you removed the track listings from Ollabelle without migrating them to the respective album pages (which do not exist yet)? Thanks, --AlanH (talk) 04:44, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Val Chadwick Bagley

I searched for this illustrator using http://news.google.com and its archive search, and found a newspaper story about him which I added to Val Chadwick Bagley as a reference. You may want to revisit Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Val Chadwick Bagley. --Eastmain (talk) 17:28, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your edits on the Underoath page. They look great! ŁittleÄlien¹8² (talk\contribs) 00:33, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

I'll try. I just started medical school last week, so I've been extremely busy. If I have free time in the near future, I'll definitely help out. ŁittleÄlien¹8² (talk\contribs) 04:04, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Underoath GAN

Hi Jerry, I added a few notes about referencing with the Underoath article on its GAR sub-page. The article is decent with referencing, but that's a very important point and still, some facts are unsourced or the references need altering (as I mentioned over there). I'd be willing to help out with this some, as I mainly work on music-related articles myself. Cheers, JamieS93 14:47, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Feel free to move it to your Barnstar-gallery :-) --Azure Shrieker (talk) 14:00, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Thank you. The Underoath GA was my first GA =).
My talk template isn't working, i'll try to fix it but i'm not sure why it isn't working. For the last 3 discussions i've had to manually format it... – Jerryteps 22:42, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
I'll keep it here but i'll make a copy in my Barnstar list. – Jerryteps 22:44, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Help me

I'm trying to mark pages as patrolled but the link as described

here but I can't see it. I'm going to the pages through Special:NewPages and i've checked if they've been patrolled at Special:Log/patrol but they're not listed... I've never marked pages as patrolled before and I wanted to start but I don't know how... =( Thanks in advanced. – Jerryteps

You're clicking on the article's name from special:newpages, right? The URL it takes you to includes an rcid number? You should be able to scroll to the bottom of the article and see on the right hand side a [Mark this page as patrolled] link, no? If not, you might ask at 04:33, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, there's the rcid number in the url but no mark the page as pattrolled. I'll ask at the
WP:VPT. Thank you. – Jerryteps
05:45, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
You're nearly right :). Special:Newpages lists the newest pages, with the ones highlighted in yellow not being patrolled. If you click on an entry in the list, it takes you to the article. On the bottom-right corner of the article is a small link that says "mark this page as patrolled". Click that link and the page is then flagged as patrolled. Hope this helps, Gazimoff 09:29, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
I know it should be there but I tried refreshing the page continuously for a new article to be created and quickly went into the article but there was no option to do this and the article was not listed in Special:Log/patrol... I think it might have to do something with my monobook.css file. I'll edit that to remove all css and try and see if it appears then. I know that it probably has nothing to do with it, and how could it? But I have to try. – Jerryteps 09:34, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
It appears it was my monobook.css custom style, i've removed it and it is working now... – Jerryteps 03:18, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Message

Hello, Jerry teps. You have new messages at WilliamH's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Re: User_talk:76.92.155.158

I generally leave one warning when someone uses that word, but he hasn't vandalized in a while, so blocking him now would not accomplish anything. Also, just because I'm an administrator doesn't mean my opinion is more valuable than anyone else's. J.delanoygabsadds 14:09, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

As I Lay Dying

Please don't continue to edit-war on this. Instead please discuss civilly towards a solution. Leaving templated warning messages on a user's talk page in a dispute is frowned upon too. Please don't do that either. Thanks for your understanding. --John (talk) 02:20, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Ok, it's just that this user has a complete disregard for relevancy and insist that it should redirect to the book. The band is more notable and is view around x10 more times than the book. – Jerryteps 02:24, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
I read your argument in the edit summary and it may be that you're right. What I'm suggesting is that you should discuss it in talk rather than in edit summaries, and that issuing a vandal warning to a user in good standing in a content dispute is unhelpful. If you agree with me, you could remove the warning or strike it through to reflect that. It would be a very helpful gesture. Thanks also for your comment on my user page. --John (talk) 03:16, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Where do you see this going? I can't see anything good coming from the discussion now and I suggest you drop it now, in everybody's best interests. I've outlined a couple of places you could take the discussion to if you want to improve things, but keeping it going there after the matter has been resolved to everybody's satisfaction seems unlikely to help the project. --John (talk) 02:41, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi Jerry teps. It appears you went to the incorrect talk page here; I think you were meaning to go to User talk:Danigoni. Anyway, best wishes, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 22:59, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
