The Poseidon statue in Gothenburg, Sweden, is a work of Carl Milles, erected in 1927. It stands in the middle of the Götaplatsen square in the city centre and is considered a symbol of Gothenburg.

In Swedish, it is known as Poseidon med brunnskar ("Poseidon with a Tub" or Poseidonbrunnen ("The Poseidon Fountain").

History

The tub Poseidon is standing in was erected on 20 November 1927. It is adorned with smaller statues and reliefs of water creatures.
