I noticed you made some edits to
Holyoke Blue Sox
Hi, noticed your revert, which then reinstated a citation problem. As far as I can seem the guy's name etc is buried in the stuff about alumni & this was why I made the "not notable" decision. Feel free to revert again but if you do so then please could you also fix the problem with the refs. - Sitush (talk) 19:27, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hey, fixed the citation tag problem (though that really threw me for a loop for a second, haha). And I'm sorry if I'm being an idiot, but how do the notability guidelines for articles (a baseball player must have played at the AAA level or in a minor league all-star game in lower levels) apply to a player's being mentioned in a page section? As a professional alumnus of the team about whom the article is written, wouldn't he merit a mention in an alumni section on the page? Thanks for being civil and starting a conversation by the way. Kithira (talk) 19:34, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
- It's a rule of thumb thing. If we do not do this then lists become untenably long, and this applies to all sorts of subjects rather than just sports players. A line has to be drawn somewhere and the easiest, most consistent way to do so is to invoke the WP:N guidelines. You'll see it happening on pages for towns/cities etc, on those for schools and colleges ... and just about everywhere else. I'm not sure why you have not seen the convention before but it certainly should apply to Blue Sox. Remember also that lists in articles are discouraged in the first place (I know, I know, this is a rule that sometimes seem to be observed more in the breach than in its application!). Create a separate "list" article, although even then the notability convention would usually be applicable. - Sitush (talk) 19:39, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Hey, saw you stopped by my page and just wanted to say thanks. Your stadium list is impressive; you have a pretty big head start on me. ;) Ensign beedrill (talk) 17:48, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
Kithira, I see you've done a lot of work on college baseball navboxes. I just wanted to give you a heads up about some navbox cleanup I'm doing. I working on bringing some consistency to the navboxes across all college sports. Take a look at Template:Big Ten Conference baseball venue navbox, particularly with respect to the naming scheme. Also note that the template is carrying the colors of the Big Ten logo. These are standards we want to aim for with all college sports navboxes. Let me know if you have any thoughts. Thanks. Kithira, just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your work on college baseball articles and navboxes. When it comes to colors on navboxes, however, standard convention is to refrain from putting any colors on them unless said colors are directly related to the article or header itself. Please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject College Basketball#Coloration for award navboxes, which was a previous discussion between WP:CBBALL and WP:CFB regarding this exact issue. Although the discussion pertained to awards specifically, the concept applies broadly (in this case, Division I baseball stadiums according to state, which have no specific colors). Jrcla2 (talk) 20:25, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks. I'd had the color coding from JWeiss' update of college baseball conference venue navboxes and had done state flag colors for these.
I'll remove them.(Nevermind, thanks!) Thanks. Kithira (talk) 20:26, 27 December 2011 (UTC)- It's all good. The navboxes were needed so you definitely filled a void! Jrcla2 (talk) 20:33, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
- No problem. Do you think there's a need for other college sports (FBS football, FCS football, basketball, hockey, etc.)? Kithira (talk) 20:35, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
- Some of them already exist (see Category:American college sports venue navigational boxes). Jrcla2 (talk) 20:38, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
