Turn- und Sportverein 1848 Eningen unter Achalm is a sport club from

Eningen unter Achalm in Baden-Württemberg
. The football team played one season in the second amateur league in 1949/50 and two seasons in the highest amateur league in the 1970s.

History

The club can be traced back to Turngemeinde Eningen (Eningen gymnastics club), formed in 1848, which presumably came from the merging of Turngesellschaft Eningen and Turnverein Eningen, however was banned the following year. On 4 May 1863, Turngemeinde 1863 Eningen was founded, which connected with TV Concordia Eningen in 1891. In January 1921, a football section was formed, which split off as Sportfreunde Eningen in the course of the Clean Divorce. In 1933, the club took on a number of members of the workers' sports club Rotsport Eningen, which had been founded in 1889 as the Turnerbund Eningen. In September 1938, the Sportfreunde merged back with its parent club, which then took on the name TSV 1863 Eningen. The club was dispanded at the end of the Second World War, but was reconstituted as the Eningen Sports Club on 25 January 1947.

In 1949, the club was promoted to the Landesliga Südwürttemberg, the second-highest division at the time under the Oberliga Südwest. However, the division was dissolved at the end of the season, as the Württemberg clubs from the French occupation zone joined the divisions of the Württemberg Football Association. As only the four south Württemberg teams relegated from the Oberliga Südwest and three teams from the two groups of the Landesliga Südwürttemberg were accepted into the 1st Amateur League Württemberg, the club was thus demoted to the 2nd Amateur League despite finishing fifth in the table in Group North[1]. In the meantime, the club had reverted to its pre-war name in January 1950 and changed the year in its name from 1863 to 1848 in 1958.

After several years in the middle amateur division, the club was promoted to the 1st Black Forest Lake Constance Amateur League in 1975. After finishing tenth in the table in the first year of membership, the team was relegated from the third-highest division at the time in 1977. The club also failed to qualify for the fourth-tier Verbandsliga the following year, which was introduced after the introduction of the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in 1978.

In the 2021/22 season, the club will play in the eight-class Bezirksliga Alb[2].
