Hi, my name is Mike Arion.

I am currently self-employed and my business includes marketing, computer programming and web development. Prior to that I worked 17 years in the Aerospace Industry. I worked as a machine tool programmer and a prototype machinist. Although my college education falls short of a BA I was promoted to a member of the Engineering staff and made functional design changes and spearheaded new products for the industry. Technically, I was a "company trained engineer" but actually I trained them. The fact is they needed me to get anything done back then. My early life experience being trained as a machinist combined with my extensive knowledge of computers and computer programming made my skills in that industry very valuable and in demand.

My college education was interrupted by the arrival of my first child which I do not regret. After my kids are grown I'll likely go back to college and finish my degree in Engineering. However, being self-employed, and never turning back, I don't need a degree except to hang on my wall. Knowledge is free for those that want it.

I love Wikipedia and the community concept of sharing knowledge very much. However, Wikipedia is not a major focus in my life. I have edited hundreds of articles (mostly logged out) normally minor corrections. I hope to contribute more to the community as time goes on.

I am an accomplished guitarist, vocalist and drummer. I have played in various rock bands and still love to rock & roll of course. I played in clubs all over the Seattle area in the mid 1990s. Some good friends and former band mates of mine have been playing with former members of the band Heart in recent years. I think that is very cool. I missed that but was invited to join the band on bass if I would move out. But not even rock stars could get me to move back to the dark rainy town. Currently I enjoy recording original music using the amazing Cubase music recording software.

My hobbies include: music, sound recording, reading, photography, science, philosophy, math, theology, technology, computers, history, hiking, boating and more. I'm really not boring, I don't just read. I do know how to have fun and just party too. But I do love to read and read I do.
