My name is Matthew Smith. Im a freshman at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. I am studying in the College of Science and Technology as a Pre-Veterianary Major. I was born in Atlanta, Georgia to my parents, Reeves and Cecilia. I have one older brother, Andrew, and a younger sister, Sarah. When I was 8 my parents got divorced and I went to live with my mom. Times were tough for her taking care of three children after not having a job for 15 years. When me and my brother were both old enough to work we helped out with what ever we could. Though times were bad back then they got better, she is now the co-owner of a Produce delivery company that delievers Fresh organic produce to a customers front door. Growing up I loved to help my dad work out on his farm. At age 11 I would go out on the tractor and plow and bushhog. When I was out there I would love to go shoot guns and ride ATVs. When I was 15 I got a job working at a Car shop. I started by just cleaning the shop and eventually made it up too being a partime mechanic as a highschool student. when I turned 16 I bought myself my first vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler. I have enjoyed working on it and fixing it up. I enjoy taking it offroad often as well. In the spring of 2010 I graduated from George Walton Comprehensive High School in Marietta, Georgia and now I am a freshman at Georgia Southern University.

Contributions to Wikipedia

Right now I am just a beginner at Wikipedia. I have done several edits fixing grammatical errors and punctuation. I just posted my first article called Durhamtown Plantation. I will Continue to use Wikipedia and will improve on my editing and contributions to Wikipedia.

Relationship to technology

As a young adult I believe I am a little dependent on technology. I use a computer everyday for class, checking emails, writing papers, and social networking. I believe technology is a good thing and is usefull for evrybody to know. I do like to communicate with my phone, even though talking in person is better and more personal, I will talk and text people. Though im on the computer alot, I dont have much experiance in coding and editing. In highschool I did have a class that taught me all about Microsoft Exel.

Philosophy of Wikipedia

Growing up I used Wikipedia for many things. In school I would use Wikipedia to find information on people, places, and events. Wikipedia is a good source of information for people who are looking for specific topics. I believe that if a person new to Wikipedia it it may be hard to set up a profile and get started editing with all the coding. I do like the fact that Wikipedia is open to everyone and how people can go edit others articles to help out and the fact that everything that is put on Wikipedia has to be sourced and refrenced.

Languages

I was born in America and I grew up learning American English as my first language. In grade school I studied Spanish. Though I studied Spanish I am not fluent in the language. I hope to one day become fluent in Spanish because it will help me with a job in the future.

Whatever you like section

Im 19 years old and im inspiring to become a rural and large animal Veterinarian. Working at my dad's farm I would work with cows and other large animals. I was able to meet the local vet many times and eventually got a job during the summer working with him. I would clean the Veterinary office but I also would get to go on farm calls where I would help him with the animals. On on Wednesdays I would go to the stockyards with him where we had to check any where from a couple to almost one hundred cows for pregnancy. My favorite thing to do was to watch the surguries that took place in his office. When younger, people always asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up but I always answered with "I dont know", but after working at the Vet's and figuring out what he does on a regular basis I finally found out what I want to be when I grow up.
