History

Chromaphase Began in 2007 with the Electro Jazz Band Wipping Willow in France, During 2 years he performs in some of the most famous venues in Paris (La Fleche D'or, Trabendo, La Scene Bastille...) and Festivals (Nuit du Sud, Dailymotion Festival).

After arrive in Shanghai in 2009, Chromaphase begins his carreer in VJ as an independant. He performs beside International DJs such The Twelves (Brazil), kode9 [1] (Scotland) R3ggie (Australia), Achun (Macau), College [2] (France) and famous Chinese DJs such Ceezy[3] (Jazz, Downtempo) DJ Hbd (HipHop) Sulumi (8 bits) Howie Lee (Dubstep) Lin Feng (Electro). All those meets make Chromaphase evolve his style, find new inspiration to match with the very close style of each artist. He also explores live band performance (Jupiter[4], Mao Livehouse Shanghai 2012) and special event such the Jean-Paul Gaultier Fashion Show Party in Beijing[5] and MMAX Beijing Festival.[6]

Style

Chromaphase defines himself his style between Anthropocentrism and Hypermodernity

Chromaphase's process of creation include graphical design, 2D/3D Animation, his own super-8 footages, Sharing videos from other artist and documentaries. Aswell, Chromaphase is now known, in first hand, to record by himself the human models that appear in his VJ for more quality and accurency.

His art use different medias such multiple projectors, self-made accessories (Screen-glasses), LED screen and 3D Mapping.

Influences

Chromaphase use a lot of black and white footages as he got influenced by artists like Darren Aronofsky, Chris Marker or Samuel Beckett. City hi-speed footages from telemak (japanese footage) and Ron Fricke's documentaries (Koyaanisqatsi and Baraka). he is also known to use Science and Space footages.
