User:N-Bot

This user account is a bot operated by Nickptar (talk). It is used to make repetitive automated or semi-automated edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually, in accordance with the bot policy. This bot does not yet have the approval of the community, or approval has been withdrawn or expired, and therefore shouldn't be making edits that appear to be unassisted except in the operator's or its own user and user talk space. Administrators: if this bot is making edits that appear to be unassisted to pages not in the operator's or its own userspace, please block it.

Purpose

It transforms links-to-redirects-to-lists to links-to-sections-of-lists. In other words:

• Some lists, like
  Captain Panaka
  .
• Lots of articles link to these redirects - 7 mainspace pages linked to
  Captain Panaka
  (before the bot was used on that list).
• This can be highly annoying, because those redirects go to the top of the page.
• Therefore, this bot turns [[Captain Panaka]], wherever it exists, into [[List of minor Star Wars characters#Panaka, Captain|Captain Panaka]]. And so on and so forth, for each list it runs on.

I've been finding fodder for it by looking under Category:Lists of fictional things.
