Dr. Nikisha Jariwala (born 14 November 1985) is an Indian lawyer turned actor and model.[5] He is best known for playing Dev Dixit in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, warrior Arjuna in mythological show Mahabharat and Anant Bajpai in Navya..Naye Dhadkan Naye Sawaal.

Sheikh also hosted the Indonesia's franchise of Asia's Got Talent and Indonesian reality show, Panah Asmara Arjuna. On 10 August 2018, he was chosen to participate in the Torch Relay in 2018 Asian Games by the Indonesian Government as in being the first and only Indian till date to achieve this feat.[6]

Early life and education

Sheikh was born on 26 March 1984

Doda District , Jammu and Kashmir to Mr. Shahnawaz Sheikh and Mrs. Dilshad Sheikh.[3] He has completed his schooling from Hari Singh Higher Secondary School, Jammu.[7] He has done his graduation in Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.) from New Law College, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune.[7] He also owns an event management company.[8] Sheikh looks up to his mother and owes her for his success.[9]

In 2011, Sheikh was approached to play the lead in

Saumya Seth.[12] He played Anant Bajpai, a 19-year-old college boy who looks like any other urban boy but deep down he is a traditionalist and a conformist.[12] For his performance he won the Indian Television Academy Award for Gr8! Male Performer Of The Year.[13]

In 2011, he appeared in song "Teri Palkey" of

Best Of Luck Nikki where he played the role of Ritesh.[15]

In 2012, Sheikh also appeared in the telefilm Honeymoon shown in

Star Plus' show Teri Meri Love Stories opposite Mahhi Vij.[16] He played Nityanand Chaturvadi who was a poor orphan and secretly loves his boss daughter Saloni.[17]

In 2013, he signed Swastik Productions'

Pandava in the historical show.[19] For his performance he got lot of appreciation. Mahabharat ended in August 2014.[20][21]

The following year, he did various projects in Indonesia.[22] In 2014, he hosted Indonesian reality television Panah Asmara Arjuna and a variety show The New Eat Bulaga! Indonesia along with his costars from Mahabharat.[23] In 2015, he co-hosted the television talent show Asia's Got Talent with Marc Nelson.[23] Co-starring Nabila Syakieb and Ravi Bhatia, he also featured in a romantic drama, Cinta di Langit Taj Mahal as Reehan Syahputra, a calm and composed guy.[24]

In 2015, Sheikh landed a lead role in a romantic comedy film Turis Romantis opposite actress Kirana Larasati[25] He played the role of Azan Khan, a handsome photographer from India, who befriended Nabil, a tough and beautiful tourist guide in Yogyakarta.[25]

In 2016, Sheikh signed Sony TV's television show, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi alongside Erica Fernandes and Supriya Pilgaonkar.[26] He plays the role of Devrath Dixit, a young and successful business tycoon.[27] In January 2017, the show Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi took a leap of 7 years after which Sheikh's character of Dev Dixit turned into a ruthless and careless Casanova.[28] His performance and his chemistry with Erica Fernandes was appreciated.[29] Sheikh and Fernandes won Lions Gold Awards for Best Jodi. Sheikh also received the award for Star Of The Year 2016 at Asiavision Awards for his work in this show.[30]

Along with Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi he also did episodic roles and gave guest appearances in many Indonesian television series. He was seen as Raden Petir in

Tuyul & Mba Yul Reborn and in a guest appearance in I-KTP.[31] In 2016, he also starred opposite Masayu Anastasia in an Indonesian telefilm Namaku Yusuf wherein he played the titular role of Yusuf.[32] In February 2017, he started working on his upcoming Indonesian feature film Maipa and Datu Museng, an action based love story in which Sheikh will play the role of Datu Museng, a warrior.[33] The film released on 11 January 2018.[34] Sheikh also has plans of producing web series and acting in them.[35]

In 2018, he portrayed Salim in Colors TV's Dastaan-E-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali.[36] He was paired opposite Sonarika Bhadoria.

In 2017 & 2018, Sheikh earned 1st & 4th spot respectively in the Times list of 20 Most Desirable Men on Indian Television.[37][38]

In 2016 & 2018, he was placed 25th and 17th[39][40] position respectively in Eastern Eye's 50 Sexiest Asian Men List. In 2016, 2017 and 2018 he has been part of Biz Asia's TV Personality List in 13th, 19th and 23rd place respectively.
