Hi, my name is Oscar and I have been editing Wikipedia for a long time. For a while I was the main coordinator of Wikimedia Venezuela. My first article in this wiki was about Santiago Mariño, but now I focus more on closing content gaps.
Because of my volunteer work as an editor at Wikipedia and coordinator of Wikimedia Venezuela, since 2019 I have been a victim of online harassment, which has escalated in 2022 to an investigation that has been described by different human rights organizations as a judicial persecution that attempts to curtail my freedom and that of other users.
These attacks show that there are organized groups (not only in Venezuela) that want to control the truth and reality of their citizens, but it is impossible for them to bend platforms like Wikipedia, which have pillars such as the neutral point of view and the use of reliable sources that help prevent their unique truth.
