Dr. Henry Donselman received his degree from Purdue University (http://www.purdue.edu/) in 1976 and was the Palm Specialist for the University of Florida (http://www.ifas.ufl.edu/) for almost 15 years. During that time he was located at the Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center where he worked with the Lethal Yellowing Scientists (http://flrec.ifas.ufl.edu/). Lethal Yellowing is an always fatal disease of coconut palms and several other palm species (http://www.floridaplants.com/horticulture/ly.htm). In 1988 he left the university and since then has helped to create and/or maintain some of the most spectacular plantscapes known including the World Finance Center in NY (http://www.pcparch.com/textOnly/awards.cfm), the Mirage Casino, the Treasure Island, the MGM Grand, Luxor and Stratosphere in Las Vegas, The Embarcadero, San Francisco, the Hollywood Blvd (Walk of Stars) in Hollywood, CA, Petco Park in San Diego, CA, the Auto Club Speedway of Southern California, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and the Home Depot Olympic Training Center in California. In addition he has traveled throughout the world on other palm projects. He is also a well known plant breeder who has developed many of the tropical ornamentals and cut-flower varieties being currently grown in the nursery industry. Dr. Donselman currently resides in southern California.
