Manuelita Brown,sculptor, board chairwoman of the San Diego Museum of Art, Artists Guild. Creator- sculptor of the University of California at San Diego's, "Triton" bronze monumental sculpture, height 9 feet, from lost wax casting, the visual character of the University's mascot. The convocation ceremony and unveiling of "Triton" was held with many in attendance from the University team of sponsors to the foundry staff and news media. She has worked on many public arts projects, including a bust of Supreme Court Judge Thurgood Marshall, Artic explorer, Matthew Hensen and "Almas del Mar" a group of eight larger than lifesize dolphins in pools across 120 feet of Westfield Mall,UTC in LaJolla,CA. Julia CR Gray, artist Oil painter, muralist, mixed-media, sculpture, abstract and figurative work beginning with study in 1973. At times over her career, has been comissioned in Public Art programs and selected as the featured artist in San Diego's "Artwalk",2008. She has become known for "Garden Goddess" and "Nude Koi" series of oils. Her knowledge and dedication to environmental protection in paintings of endangered species, and the natural world is considerable. Of her projects: "San Elijo Endangered Spaces Series, San Elijo Outreach", Dr. Mitchell(2001) and Quail Botanical Gardens, Encinitas, CA (2003). From 1977 to 2008 she has over 50 private and public artworks placed including Alpine School system, CA, Del Mar Fair, Pepperdine University - center for the arts, LA, CA.
