Sam Sklaver

Sam Sklaver is a writer and producer, who most recently co-created Prodigal Son (TV series) with Chris Fedak.

Early Life

Sklaver grew up in Connecticut. He attended

The George Washington University where he was part of the university's improv comedy team Recess. One of his first jobs in Hollywood was working as an assistant to comedian Mike Myers

Career

Prior to Prodigal Son, Sklaver was most recently a consulting producer on Deception (2018 TV series) and American Housewife and a co-executive producer on Blunt Talk and Mr. Iglesias. He has written for a wide range of shows including Bored to Death, Children's Hospital (TV series), Ben and Kate, and Married (TV series).

. Sklaver was named one of Variety's 10 TV Scribes to Watch in 2019.

Sklaver co-created Prodigal Son with Chris Fedak who he first worked with on Deception. On January 28, 2019, it was announced that Fox had given the production a pilot order. Sklaver and Fedak executive produce alongside

Warner Bros. Television

produce the show. On March 12, 2019 it was announced that Lee Toland Krieger would be directing the series. On May 9, 2019, it was announced that the production had been given a series order. A day after that, it was announced that the series would premiere in the fall of 2019 and air on Mondays at 9:00PM. The series debuted on September 23, 2019. On October 7, 2019, the series was picked up for a full season of 22 episodes.
