Sean Matthew Gibson is a communications professional by vocation and a civic activist by avocation. His professional career has spanned the high tech, cleantech and energy & environment sectors. He has contributed to environmental grassroots organizing through U.S. Public Interest Research Group (US PIRG), as co-director of the Evanston field office; and Surfrider Foundation, as chair of the San Francisco Chapter. He is committed to civic activism and was part of the Community Fellows Program of Coro Northern California in Fall of 2005. He has worked with some of the largest technology brands including Dell (April 2012-current) and HP, as well as supported the U.S. government on ENERGY STAR, the energy efficiency program.

Born October 11, 1970 in Whittier, California, he has resided in San Francisco since January 1995. He received a B.A. in Diplomacy and World Affairs with an emphasis in Latin America from Occidental College in Los Angeles in 1993. He has lived in Barcelona twice (1991 and 1994), as well as Santa Cruz, Seattle, New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago and San Diego (1980-1989). He is married to Serena Eva Ingre, a native of Ecuador, and is conversational in Spanish.
