Ste Hay
Ste Hay, portrayed by Kieron Richardson, first appears in the episode broadcast on 17 February 2006.
Danny Lomax
Danny Lomax, portrayed by Stephen Billington, first appears in the episode broadcast on 8 July 2013. Danny is the head of the family, the husband of Sam and the father of Ste, Leela and Tegan.[5][8] Danny is a drama teacher at the local high school, Hollyoaks High School.[4] He is described as smart, eloquent and held in high respect by the official Hollyoaks website, who also said that Danny is popular with many people, but especially his students.[11] Billington described Danny as "charming, fun, caring, complex and secretive".[12] He stated that although Danny is a "complex" character, he is very likeable.[12] Over a month after his arrival, Danny is revealed to be Ste's father. Billington was excited about portraying the story and looked forward to working with Richardson.[5] Danny departed in an unpublicised twist on 6 August 2014. Billington was written out of the series and filmed his departure in June 2014. Danny was killed-off following a car accident.[13]
Sam Lomax
Sam Lomax, portrayed by Lizzie Roper, first appears in the episode broadcast on 20 August 2013.[6] Sam is the wife of Danny and the mother of Leela and Tegan.[8] Sam is a police officer and described as compassionate, energetic and someone who works hard by the official Hollyoaks website, who billed her as "Hollyoaks' very own Superwoman!"[14] Roper compared Sam to "a lioness" where her family is concerned and said that Sam has "a heart of gold" and is unafraid.[6] Describing Sam, Roper commented, "one moment she's fun and feisty starting food fights, the next she's facing up to gangsters and doing everything she can to bring them to justice."[6] Roper was written out of the series in 2014 after one year. She filmed her final scenes in June and Sam departs in the episode broadcast on 6 August 2014. Sam was killed-off after a car accident as part of an unpublicised twist.[15]
Peri Lomax
Peri Lomax, portrayed by Ruby O'Donnell, first appears in the episode broadcast on 4 October 2013.[16] Peri is the daughter of Leela and Cameron, although this was not revealed until May 2014 and Peri is raised by Danny and Sam as their child.[17] Peri is described as cheery, wise and "the only voice of reason" in the Lomax family by the official Hollyoaks website, who also stated that Peri sometimes acts "like a typical teenage girl".[18] O'Donnell's mother thought that she bears a resemblance to Peri and felt that O'Donnell suited the Lomax family.[16] When Peri discovers the truth about Leela being her mother, she begins to resent Leela. Porter explained that "things won't run smoothly" for mother and daughter.[17] In November 2014, it was announced that Peri would become pregnant in her first issue-led storyline. Writers devised the storyline as part of the show's emphasis on safe sex. Kirkwood wanted to encourage "thoughtful debate" as a result of the story.[19]

- Mongolian blue spot, meaning that Cameron is not his father.[22] Daniel Kilkelly (Digital Spy) speculated that Zack Loveday (Duayne Boachie) could be Daniel's father.[22] Days later, Louis is confirmed as Daniel's father.
