Wikipedia tips and tricks

Below are a few things I've learned while going around Wikipedia, and I would like to share with you as well.

- Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia does not only mean free as in beer, but free as in expression. It would be more clear when you interprete the slogan as "Wikipedia, the open source encyclopedia". The same goes with the rest of Wikimedia, including the Commons.
- While talking to Wikipedians who are already experienced in pipe them, so the person you are talking to knows what you are talking about.
- To save yourself much trouble in the future, do not make claims about yourself that are exponently higher than what you really are.
- To avoid first sentence in an articleshould only contain the following:
- Full name including most prominent stage name.
- Birthdate and location
- Nationality
- Occupation
- The term Wiki does not refer to Wikipedia or Wikimedia Foundation. A wiki is a website that can be edited by others, the concept behind Wikipedia.
- Instead of linking an interview on the "External links" section of an article, use it as a citation for the article. External links are for the subject's official site or any active wiki site that is focused on the subject.
- sockpuppetsis a good way to assure you'll never edit English Wikipedia again.
