Ohaingu The Place To Be
Ohaingu is a small village located in the Engela Constituency, in the
There is a limited number of public services in Ohaingu. It only consists of one clinic. When someone gets very ill, he/she is referred to the Engela state hospital, many kilometers out of Ohaingu, in the Engela Constituency. There are a number of cuca-shops and departmental stores that mostly sell necessities. Most of these necessities are so expensive compared to the people's income. When people want to buy 'fancy' products or clothes for example, they have to travel to Oshikango. Oshikango is situated in the Helao Nafidi constituency, near the border that lies between Angola and Namibia. The First Regional Councillor of Oshikango Constituency was Michael Hishikushitja. Oshikango was heavily affected by the South African Border war from 1966 to 1986 between South Africa and South West African Peolpe's Organisation(SWAPO). [2]
Ohaingu may not have many resources or entertainment facilities, but it sure is a very peaceful village to stay in.
