Because news about Georgian falling back is only confirmed by Lenta.ru This page has to be neutral —Preceding unsigned comment added by Markuspint (talk • contribs) 12:31, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Lenta.ru is neutral? Please...
It is a Pro-Kremlin Newspaper. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Markuspint (talk • contribs) 12:37, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
It is a fact. The Bronze Soldier Conflict of Estonia is a proof for that. Look how they covered these events.
End of discussion. This argument leads to nowhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Markuspint (talk • contribs) 12:41, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

South Ossetia
I accidentally deleted it. I kept getting into edit conflicts so I just got tired and pushed through with my edit and it may have gotten rid of some edits along the way. Feel free to re-add it. --Tocino 21:54, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Part about the journalist victims
Could you add some information for which news agencies those journalists worked? For example I didn't find a single hit via google about Winston Faderly. Maybe the name is not right? -- DanteRay (talk) 22:00, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
- I can't find English-language sources for that, that's why I transliterate the name from Russian :(. If I find correctly spelled name I'll fix it. --Alexander Widefield (talk) 22:02, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
- I searched in the German version of Google news, and I found this article. It is mentioned that two journalists coming from Georgia to the conflict area had been killed according to the radio station Echo Moscow. They were killed by south ossetian rebels. On of them was a photographer of the Russian news agency Itar-Tass. The second journalist worked for the US-Magazine News Week. Both of them were Georgians.
- The Austrian news paper says the same and even tells us the names of the journalists: Alexander Klimschuk and Grigol Schichladse.
- I think we could add this to the article (well, I can't ;) ...) -- DanteRay (talk) 22:12, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
- Klimchuk's last name looks like Ukrainian. Grigol's last name is better transliterated as Chikhladze (Чихладзе in Russian). I've added them. --Alexander Widefield (talk) 22:14, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Article about war reporting
Hallo. I'm a journalist writing for Austrian Newspaper "Falter". I'm working on a story about war reporting on Wikipedia (focused on South Ossetia War). I would like to ask you a few questions via email about this subject (concerning neutrality and propaganda on Wikipedia). I would be really pleased, if you agreed to answer my questions. If you are interested just send me a message via my Wikipedia profile. Best regards, Wueddens (talk) 14:43, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
45th Detached Reconnaissance Regiment in 2008 South Ossetia war
Hi Alexander. Yesterday I moved the 45th Detached Reconnaissance Regiment from GRU units to VDV units, but you reverted this. As said in the article abaout the
- Yes, its name is "45th ... Regiment of VDV", but I've read in several VDV sources that its operative commandment is maintained by GRU. --Alexander Widefield (talk) 11:06, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- Can you give me an URL or a reference to that sources? I'm writing the article about the VDV in the spanish Wikipedia, and this information can be useful. Thanks in advance.--Darz Mol (talk) 17:36, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, there are many, but not all are reliable, most of them are analytics articles in papers, forum message etc.:

Anatoly Nogovitsyn
You are referring to "Anatoliy Kvashnin" to explain why you moved Nogovitsyn from "Anatoly" to "Anatoliy". But the fact is the article on Anatoly Kvashnin is entitled "Anatoly Kvashnin", not "Anatoliy". VZakharov (talk) 12:15, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
