• I think you have probably misunderstood
  WP:V
  (0.95 probability), and need to revisit it. The policy says, in a nutshell, "Readers must be able to check that Wikipedia articles are not just made up. This means that all quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source using an inline citation." What it does not say is that the references themselves must be verifiable, unless you can show me in the policy where I am mistaken (I have been mistaken in the past over things and will be mistaken again). It is sufficient to use a reference that is in a reliable source, independent of the entity being referenced, that is significant coverage. That 'someone can check' is enough, so there must be enough detail for someone to track the source down.

It's ideal to have an online version, but not required. My view is that
