2010 in film

Please refrain from editing 2010 in film, for if continued, a ban may be set. thank you. Tdi7457 (talkcontrib) 08:50, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

This is a warning. Continued addition of Elżbieta Czyżewska to 2010 in film may result in a block. If you find other known film titles to her name, i'll consider re-addition. thank you.Tdi7457 (talkcontrib) 08:50, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Dude, there is no legitimate reason not to include her. The entry contains three films, that is notable. BOVINEBOY2008 12:02, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Unprotect 2010 in film for you messed up the page. Delete Elżbieta Czyżewska from the page. It is only necessary for it will prevent furthur damage to the page and your furthur stubborness.Tdi7457 (talkcontrib) 08:50, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

I am not an admin. Why do you want to delete her entry? BOVINEBOY2008 02:10, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Her entry has indented
Elliot Kastner's entry. That part is too full to contain her entry. That and every entry submitted is familliar with the users and viewers of the page. No one knows a Elżbieta Czyżewska.Tdi7457 (talkcontrib
) 23:13, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
That is not a good reason and you know it, we can make the section longer. I am also starting an entry at
WT:FILM about it that you should definitely comment on. BOVINEBOY2008
02:20, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Listen, i know you want her recognized. But she just won't fit. Protecting the page won't solve the problem. If you remove her entry, i'll nominate you for becoming an administrator. Think about it.Tdi7457 (talkcontrib) 23:13, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Re: Sheet Music for Leon Russell and Robin Thicke

Bovineboy2008,

Thank you for the messages. Sorry for the inconvenience; I am a new user to wikipedia. How would I go about adding a reference to the existence of sheet music for the album, then, without being considered a vandal or unconstructive? Mikeclm (talk) 20:59, 1 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikeclm (talkcontribs)

You can't advertise. Period. First, you need to consider not leaving pretty much identical entries to several articles. Also, Wikipedia looks down heavily on conflict of interest editing and single-purpose editors; you may want to read 21:12, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Why did you remove my external link on Monstrosity In the External Links guide is says to add links if the target provides more details and info, which my review of the movie does...anyway, I'm new here, so forgive me if I'm out of line. Monstershack (talk) 06:04, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

I have reviewed this and found in

I thought that since the review is so detailed it shouldn't be here. Well, whatever. I still don't understand explicitly what I've violated.Monstershack (talk

Sounds like a plan... however, I recommend discussing the issue on the talk page for the article in question. If you wish to post a comment solicitation on the Film WikiProject (i.e., provide a link to the article's talk page), that is fine. — 02:32, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Infobox

I disagree. The headings (ex: Reception, Promotion, Casting the main roles) all capitolize the first word, no matter if it is a proper noun or not. Why should we now try and do something different as a smaller heading in the infobox? If the (screenplay) wasn't in parenthasis, it would be above John Williams, also capitolized. So why, now that it is below John Williams, do we not capitolize it?ChaosMaster16 (talk) 16:03, 8 July 2010 (UTC)ChaosMaster16

Above, it is working as a header, which works differently than a parenthetical note. BOVINEBOY2008 16:04, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
But its the same exact thing, its just the parenthasis and smaller text look neater.ChaosMaster16 (talk) 16:17, 8 July 2010 (UTC)ChaosMaster16
It isn't the exact same thing, one is a header and one is a note. The capitalization makes it look like a title or something. BOVINEBOY2008 16:20, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Futurama (video game)

Hello Bovineboy2008, are you certain the recent edits by an ip editor/new user to Futurama (video game) are incorrect? We currently have no citation for the GameCube/GBA cancellations. Just checking.  Chickenmonkey  19:23, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, no GameCube or GBA versions are showing up on GameSpot. On IGN, it says release date as TBA. Since they are no longer developing game for Cube, I don't see how they have already released it... BOVINEBOY2008 19:28, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
Also, it is no where to be found on the Nintendo official website. BOVINEBOY2008 19:32, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
Fair enough. Thanks for the answer.  Chickenmonkey  19:35, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
However, the edits appear to be
in good faith; so, perhaps further explanation is warranted in the edit summary -- beyond a simple revert, or undo.  Chickenmonkey

Why are you removing this category from several games which has been announced for 2010? --Mika1h (talk) 11:37, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Because they haven't been released in 2010 yet. As soon as they are released in 2010, they can be considered a 2010 game. See similar patterns in the film and television. BOVINEBOY2008 11:39, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't have to be released. Only confirmed for release that year. See similar patterns in the Category:2011 films and Category:2011 video games. --Mika1h (talk) 11:47, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
In my opinion, those violate
WP:CRYSTAL. We have no guarantee that they will be released this year. BOVINEBOY2008
11:48, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
No they won't if there are reliable sources to back those dates up. "A schedule of future events may be appropriate if it can be verified." --Mika1h (talk) 11:50, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Well then what do you make of Category:Upcoming video games, should it have both? I think not. I can understand an article containing a list of future dates, but not categories. BOVINEBOY2008 11:52, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
If it's a 2010 game and it's unreleased, then it should have both. --Mika1h (talk) 11:58, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
How do you know its is a 2010 game if it hasn't been released yet? You're assuming it will be, but it isn't yet. BOVINEBOY2008 12:00, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
I know if there is
reliable source for the date. --Mika1h (talk
) 12:03, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

And I know that films and espcially games are often delayed, sometimes even until the next year. BOVINEBOY2008 12:04, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

And so they are, then we update the article accordingly. --Mika1h (talk) 12:05, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
So you are okay with putting out incorrect information? Perhaps we should take this to a more public forum? BOVINEBOY2008 12:08, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
You don't know it's incorrect until they delay it (if they ever will). I go by what the sources say. --Mika1h (talk) 12:19, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
And I go by reality, sorry. Do you want to take this to 12:20, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Go ahead. --Mika1h (talk) 12:21, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

A recent reversion

Howdy. I'm curious why you reverted this edit I made? You didn't give a reason in the edit summary.--Rockfang (talk) 19:09, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I should have. We don't put external links in inline text, only in references and in the External Links section. Plus, we try to avoid links to wikias. BOVINEBOY2008 19:19, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Could you please link a guideline or policy that says this? I don't think the links were hurting anything. I figured they were helpful, otherwise I wouldn't have added them. In fact, one of the links you reverted was a plain internal link.--Rockfang (talk) 19:22, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
See the first line of 19:29, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Ok. But that doesn't explain why you removed the internal link. That single doesn't appear to be linked anywhere else in the section.--Rockfang (talk) 19:45, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Rollback

Hi, I've just moved the Puss in Boots (2011 film) article for you as requested. Thanks for all your work here. On looking through your contributions I have a couple of observations which may be helpful.

  • Firstly about rollback, please don't use it to undo good faith edits. These should all be reverted with a proper edit summary. For example the author of this edit deserves to know why their edit was undone. Please only use rollback for blatant vandalism.
  • Secondly, I was curious about the Puss in Boots film. This version seems quite decent with inline references, etc. However you edit warred to revert it back to a redirect. Yet a month a later you seem to be happy for the article to exist (and the current version has fewer sources!). Redirecting is almost equivalent to deleting an article and I can't help feeling in cases like this that it would be better to open an AfD on the article to get some discussion going. Or at least to contact the author and explain what you have done and why.

Don't get me wrong, I feel your judgements are usually correct and in line with policy, but I'm afraid that your actions may be turning away and discouraging decent editors who just need some guidance and explanation about what they've done wrong. Regards — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:45, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the notes. I'll be doing more to change my edit habits. I don't really have any good explanation other than being lazy. BOVINEBOY2008 12:47, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Okay, cool. No more laziness then please ;) — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:48, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

I want it to use {{Upcoming film}} if the date entered is less than the current date. So if an entry's date happened before today, then it wouldn't use the template. BOVINEBOY2008 16:53, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
