The Content Creativity Barnstar
For substantial improvements and contributions of quality sourced content to various Cirque du Soleil-related articles.

AtticusX (talk) 10:52, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Still doing great work

Dude. Once again, kudos for your continued contributions of well-referenced material to all the Cirque du Soleil articles, making them more substantial and less embarrassing to read overall. As a longtime Cirque fan, it's a project I might have enjoyed taking on myself if I had more time and stamina for generating content. As it is, I am enjoying learning a little more about each show as I go through and copyedit your additions. I bet Cirque would be happy to see how Wikipedia's coverage of their shows has become less uneven recently. AtticusX (talk) 03:27, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm certainly glad to contribute, and highly appreciate the copyedits you've provided in such a timely fashion. I'm trying to find varied sources for the information, yet the three primary ones I've found have provided a lot of core information. I think after I get the shows more fully fleshed out, the next step is to get the "advert" flagged articles updated. I've also reached out to CdS directly to ask about image usage, because at the very least I'd like to add each show logo. I'm glad you're enjoying learning more about the shows, as am I. Thanks! Fair use rationale for File:Cirque du Soleil OVO logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to

fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale
.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 00:20, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is my first time adding any type of image, and certainly want to make sure everything is added appropriately. I've gone through and made the corrections you have listed. Please let me know if there is anything further required. (Brent.austin (talk) 00:30, 9 March 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article may fail our

non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads, and users who repeatedly upload or misuse non-free images may be blocked from editing. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media Copyright Questions page. ΔT The only constant 04:37, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply

Copy of message sent to Δ -- I'm wanting to reach out to you to better understand the reason for removing the two images for Alegría. The reasoning for the usage of non-free images is listed on both of the respective pages. The images are utilized only once, and do not have a suitable replacement which is of free usage. Even in reading the link that was provided in the change log, the site needs to be listed and needs to have the rationale, which is in fact there. Is there something that is missing on the Alegría page and is causing the reason for removal, or is it is something else? Sorry to revert the edits, but in the information you provided I can't seem to find the reason for removal as valid context and rationale are provided for the particular article in question. (Brent.austin (talk) 04:45, 23 June 2011 (UTC))
Copy of reply -- Please see
WP:NFCC#10c the rationales are not valid for Alegría (Cirque du Soleil). They are valid for Alegría when writing non-free rationales please ensure that you specify the exact article. ΔT The only constant 04:49, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply

PS Do not re-add non-free files unless the problem its fixed. ΔT The only constant 04:49, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Copy of message -- I see, Alegría was the old article title until it was changed to a disambiguation page. So, the rationales are still valid, but the article title is the old one. After I update those names (Alegría (Cirque du Soleil)), will that suffice the reasoning? Thanks for the speedy response! (Brent.austin (talk) 04:55, 23 June 2011 (UTC))[reply]
Copy of reply -- Right now they are invalid, once you correct the title then they will be valid. ΔT The only constant 04:59, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Copy of message -- Awesome. I went ahead and made those changes adding the mention of the article name change in the log due to the disambiguation page. Thanks! (Brent.austin (talk) 05:03, 23 June 2011 (UTC))[reply]
