Do you remember?

A long time ago there was an editor that wrote a Featured Article for $500 and participated in the debate about paid editing on that basis. I believe he was a former marine or something and had written a lot on maritime subjects as a volunteer. He talked about how it was hard to justify writing FA pages for free to his family, when he could be supporting their livelihood. I tried to remember who it was by looking through pages at WikiProject Companies that were FA rated sometime over the last few years. I thought you may remember who it was since he was from the military Wikiproject-type background.CorporateM (Talk) 20:48, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

I have a vague recollection. Cla68? I know that user has been outspoken about paid editing. BusterD (talk) 04:01, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
I don't have any recollection of who that could be. If I charged per FA, it would be more than 500 bucks. Most of mine have taken me many man-weeks of hours.--MONGO 04:43, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
