haha my friend, I know that you did. I was reading that page sometime ago and I looked at its history. Which is why I appreciated you for the changes you made in it, and if it was you who brought in those flowcharts about the various forms of Saivism and the distance from Vedic injunctions for each of them, kudos to you. Wikipedia's hinduism articles need MUCH MUCH more of this sort of work, to counteract the balderdash from people who say everything and anything is written in the Vedic mantras. This ridiculous "everything is in the Vedas" claim is a cancer on hinduism and india in general, since it makes people unwilling to admit any progress since 1000 BC. The vast majority of modern Hindu practice, belief and ritual is not from the Vedic Mantra samhitas, and more people need to be made aware of that.

HOWEVER- that being said, I must reiterate that the opposite action, i.e saying everything which is not in the Vedic mantras was from the "sramana" movement, is something I find equally offensive. It denies any credit to non-Aryans who were not Buddhist, Jain or Bihari. I am a South Indian and I have plenty of things to be proud of in hinduism, such as Shaivism and Amman goddess worship. I am also aware that Jainism and Buddhism came to Tamil nadu after the Kalabhra invasion from the north, while native gods similar to krishna, shiva, amman, and murugan (skanda) were worshipped in Tamil lands much before the invasion. Now, these gods are part of modern Hinduism (the non Vedic contributions I mentioned), but find no place in Jainism or Buddhism.

Unfortunately, I'm terribly busy with other academic work at present, so I very much doubt that I shall have time to make the changes you suggest (incorporating the anatta and emptiness material into the Tathagatagarbha article). Merely because something is marked as uncited doesn't warrant it's removal - it warrants an invitation to be cited, and most normally is dated. A good period is as much as 12 months. I Am not the editor of that content - however, your edits included cited materials. I would much prefer that you replace the existing content with well-cited material, rather than delete stuff that is uncited. Uncited it may be, and poor it may be - but it does offer some sort of structure.
