I'm afraid those edits I removed were vandalism (or trod the thin line between that and Non POV). They were certainly not appropriate for wikipedia. Barbara Osgood 15:59, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dairy Crest Product FRijj

The product's name is offically spelt

FRijj here is the offical Dairy Crest product page [1]. Try not to be over zealous with revertions or better yet, do some research first. TheEnlightened 21:45, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply

OK, you got me... It wasn't that I mistrusted your edits, more that I couldn't believe that Dairy Crest would use such silly letter case with their product name. No hard feelings Celardore 21:52, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's ok, you just happened to change it when i was having a bad day so sorry if I came on a bit strong/crazy. The FRijj spelling is an odd one however when you look at the product it's self it kinda obvious (well it is now that you know at least). Happy wikipeding(is that how you spell it?)TheEnlightened 16:41, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

File:Http://www.dairycrest.co.uk/images/thumb product12 2.jpgWhen FRijj was launched in 1993 with its revolutionary curves and iconic cow splats it won widespread acclaim. This unique shape and cow splat packaging won FRijj a ‘Design’ award in 1994. Lol was the awarding body run by a "Jim'll fix it" contestant?

Hi Celardore,

I noticed on the BB7 history that you've objected to some of the less verifiable info that a page such as this tends to attract. While I think some of your objections do have a basis in policy, with a popular current event it is often better to copyedit and fact-tag rather than remove info, as it will likely be re-added. If several anons are editing the page it can become very frustrating to be constantly reverted. As ever, consensus is the ideal. Give me a shout if you want to chat about any of this, nice one. I stand by my edit. I quote:
"Aisleyne is also noted for her strong Jamaican accent and has been accused by other members of the house (most vocally by Grace) of being a wigger."
end quote. My reasons for the edit I made are as follows:
  • 'Jamaican' accent. Unjustified - Aisleyne does not have a Jamaican accent, imitation of an accent does not count as a true 'accent'.
  • 'Most vocally by Grace' - Fair enough, Grace was vocal about this but is it really encyclopedic?
  • 'Wigger' - this is a disparaging term.
I find addition of this information to be anti-useful. It's all he says she says kinda stuff. I've copied this information to your talk page for convinence. Thanks, I'm not meaning to be harmful. I read the information as subtle attacks on the subject, which should not be allowed. I'm all open to discussion however, I was exercising my right to be BOLD. Cheers. Celardore 00:46, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, be bold. It's one of the best "rules" we have. But rather than wholesale removal:

  • 'Jamaican' accent. Unjustified - Aisleyne does not have a Jamaican accent, imitation of an accent does not count as a true 'accent'.
Could be edited to reflect she has been noted as speaking with an affected accent similar to that of Jamaicans.
  • 'Most vocally by Grace' - Fair enough, Grace was vocal about this but is it really encyclopedic?
Well, perhaps not in the biblical sense. But it's one of the most popular shows in the UK and for better or worse the actions of those involved tend to be newsworthy, and that's often good enough for WP.
  • 'Wigger' - this is a disparaging term.
Yes it is, but I believe the term has been used, the sentiment has certainly been expressed several times and WP is not censored. Again, could be edited around rather than removed. If you really wanted to remove it the edit summary could invite others to cite a source in which case it would be hard to argue against its inclusion in some form.

So, just noting that there is enough probably enough basis to and popular interest in these facts / claims to make them worth editing rather than removing. Deizio talk 01:10, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Fair enough. You've actually taught me something here, I edited in good faith but I totally understand your points. I shall be more careful in future. Thanks Celardore 01:32, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As another Ipswich resident...

If you get bored, I was planning on creating a few more sections on Ipswich's past -- I've noted them on my user page Ratarsed 21:00, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just created Ipswich Racecourse as a stub. The article is only from memory though, so needs work. I pass there on every Sunday so if the article remains unrefined by next week, I'll grab some more details. CelardoreTalk 21:42, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
My boss has a book on Racecourse histories, so I'll try and dig out some references and more of the history of the course -- of course the area was actually much larger than the remaining park (which I believe used to be the school grounds when what is now Murrayfield Primary School and the adjacent community centre was a high school)

Re: Your user page sure is pretty

Hmm... doing up your userpage... well you could start with getting some colour in there, put some borders in and give it a sense of 'area'. By that I mean enclose it with something, like on my userpage. That's just an idea to get you started, you can also look at

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 23:21, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
