Merging

Hello, you sent this by e-mail:

Perhaps you can help me with procedure. It seems to me that the User Space article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_space is good, while Userland http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Userland is poor.
I propose to eliminate Userland and point to User Space.
I should post my proposal to the respective discussion pages? wait and go ahead?
I would like to do much the same thing to Relay ladder logic and Ladder logic.

First of all, most wikipedians prefer user talk pages to sending e-mails, but that was probably not very clear from my user page — fixed now.

As for

merging articles, it is usually done by placing {{merge
|articlename}} templates on the articles for suggesting merges, to facilitate discussion. If no discussion takes place in a while, it's likely that nobody is opposed. Or if you are confident enough, you can
Wikipedia:Merging and moving pages
.

I personally disagree with the merge of

user space and userland — while "user space" is normally used to point out that some computer process is running in user mode (as opposed to kernel mode), userland normally refers to the programs and libraries (as in files) that make up the operating system. But of course I am not authoritative on this topic — it's better to start a discussion. -- intgr 21:14, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply

Thanks! I have been meaning to get up there at some point and shoot that one; that took care of that. I like the subdued color ... sort of like an old postcard. So much so that I had to click on the image to see that it wasn't. Daniel Case (talk) 06:17, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One of you images is in trouble at Commons could you provide link to where you found that image so we can verify that it was releases to PD. Thanks --Jarekt (talk) 04:19, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
