Thank you for the welcome! (Where did you find out the swedish word for "Welcome", or was that just something that came automatically?) Happy to contribute! (At least sometimes, the DC Database needs my help more than Wikipedia for now) :) --The Clever Guy Talk! 19:18, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just searched for "welcome" on an English-Swedish web dictionary :). I love wikipedia because of its international nature and it's the only place where language, religion or creed isn't a barrier. Still, I always go the extra mile. Besides, Swedish is one of the languages that I am going to learn in the future anyway. Keep up the good work, wherever it is you choose to contribute. Fair use rationale for Image:Legionnaires37Monel.jpg

Thanks for uploading

boilerplate fair use template
, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to

fair use rationale
.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 14:47, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ouch... I'm not an expert on fair use rationales. Could you help?
What is supposed to be in the Portion and Replaceability sections? If replaceability is what I believe it is, then I've no idea if there are any free media that could be used instead. If portion is what I believe it is, then the portion used is a full (solicited) cover of a comic book. Am I right? (and is this a good fair use rationale in the other sections?) Greetings, The Clever Guy Talk! 13:13, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, portion is how much of the copyrighted work is shown. Most of my uploads have been album covers, where it is 'entire cover'. If you were cropping a character out of an ensemble piece or a screenshot, you would want to explain that.
Replaceability concerns photographs more than either album covers or comic art. If it were a publicity photo of someone who does a lot of appearances, it would be easy for someone to take a camera and get a free replacement. With album covers and here, you just need to explain that there would be no way to produce a free replacement of the image because the subject of the image itself is covered by copyright.
Thank you for working to address this. ~ BigrTex 15:43, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the explanation. I'll remove the rationale from here and put it at the image description page. (And I'll put similar rationales on other fair use images I've uploaded.) Greetings, The Clever Guy (Talk/Contribs) 17:06, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello CleverGuy, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as

GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 09:51, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply

Silver Surfer user box

Sure, go ahead. Just replace the picture within the userbox template. Though be warned that other users who use the userbox might prefer an authorised image. Zuracech lordum 02:44, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I substituted the SS cover for the offending image a few days ago that hasn't been flagged yet to the best of my knowledge. AlbertHall 14:09, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll replace the image when it's finshed. Greetings, The Clever Guy (TalkContribs) 15:22, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Silver Surfer user box image license

Please see Wikipedia:Granting work into the public domain. You should find sufficient information there. I recommend using this license - {{CopyrightedFreeUse-User}} - to release your work to the public domain. While you retain the copyrights to the image, it will allow other users unilateral and unrestricted use due to its status as free content. This will allow the image to be used within the user box. Alternatively, you may want to use an external creative commons license in which case, I recommend placing {{cc-by}} Name of your website within the license section for the image.

When you're done with that, simply replace the image code within the Silver Surfer user box template. Feel free to come back and ask me any other questions but I am currently abroad and hence may be unable to respond swiftly.

By the way, the image looks sweet. Look forward to seeing your rendition. Zuracech lordum 06:23, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I'm a little too busy right now, but I'll read through that. By the way, I uploaded the picture to the Marvel Database not too long ago (there are a special fan art license there, so it wasn't a problem at all). Here it is. You may have comments about it, and I still got the editable file if you want it changed somehow (or if you think it's just crap and demands that it must be totally remade). The Clever Guy (TalkContribs) 06:56, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not bad. Can the Surfer be more silvery than gray? And his board needs to be more distinct (check out other photos to see what I mean). Take your time but do know that my opinion doesn't matter squat. You can do whatever you want as long as it's within reason and you can justify whatever you want to do. Zuracech lordum 03:02, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good job

Well done with the image. The userbox looks much better now and it's good to see that you stuck to your goal till the very end. Thanks for the help. Zuracech lordum 04:52, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading
