The general rule is that you're not allowed to request that a specific editor make an edit that you're not allowed to do, regardless of why the restriction exists for you. Eladkarmel's participation in the prior discussion would have made it appropriate for say, someone to notify them (along with everyone else that participated) should the discussion be reopened.

The other thing to note is that typically, for an editor who is canvassed to a discussion, following through on the edit request would be considered a violation of the canvassing rules and typically something to be met with sanctions. In this case, however, due to Eladkarmel's prior participation in the discussion, I would consider them to still have good standing to re-open the discussion should they choose to do so, despite the (unintentional) canvassing attempt by you. _signed, Rosguill ^talk 14:32, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
