Information icon Hello, I'm ZLEA. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Robert L. Gibson have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website, I have blocked this account from editing. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Thank you. Alexf(talk) 18:22, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Block evasion, links to copyright violations

Looks like Dronescapes is evading the soft username block by using IPs from Italy including today's Special:Contributions/109.118.112.13, and Special:Contributions/130.0.146.146 which was active February to July 2023.[1] Note that this person says he is the "current and III Count of Verampio", referring to the position established in 1931 by Ettore Conti of Verampio, Count of Verampio for his aide to Fascist Italy.

Dronescapes and the IPs added external links to the channel called DroneScapes on YouTube.[2] This channel hosts without permission copyrighted video documentaries such as Missions That Changed the War produced by Sleeping Dog Productions and available for sale at Air2AirTV.com. Thus the DroneScapes channel external links are copyright violations. 20:41, 6 August 2023 (UTC) Binksternet (talk) 20:41, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, if you speak Italian, here is a brief history of Ettore Conti:
http://www.storiadimilano.it/repertori/ettoreconti/cronettoreconti.htm
From the link below you can also learn (I just did), that Ettore Conti voted against Mussolini as early as 1925. the vote was against Mussolini taking full power. the speech in the Senate against Mussolini's policies was in 1927.
It's an interesting read, and if you do not speak Italian, somehow Google translate does in (barely) decent job.

Did you erase the first reply?
Here it goes again, as it simply vanished:
If you paid more attention, you would have realized that we actually work with Air2Air/ Sleeping Dog Prod. etc.
We are essential to their work, also promoting Warbird in Review, 3Roads communication, Quantafilms, Aerocinema and a few more.
Air2air receives monthly royalties. If you crossed checked, or did some extra research that would have been obvious, as we also co-manage their YouTube channel (you can tell, as some of their covers are in common with ours, as we made them for Air2Air.
We have in excess of 100 videos from Air2Air, and we will get more of those in the future. It is a mutually beneficial relationship, as they also use our view count to get sponsorships (for Oshkosh 2023 for example).
Having sponsors allows Sleeping Dog to create more wonderful documentaries such as the one you removed the linki to, but also Flying Tigers, etc.
As for the Conte di Verampio, you probably have not quite read the story, as Conti was one of the few people that gave a speech in the Italian Senate that went against Mussolini, and he was one of the few that was not killed because of that (Matteotti was, for example). He was a life Senator, a pioneer of hydroelectric power plants, Ambassador, the person responsible to repay war debts, and much more.
His Hydroelectric power plants were nationalized and taken away from him by the fascist regime, just for the record.
It was one of the most devastating times of his life, but you need to speak Italian to learn about that.
Using the same IP, does not mean that that people are the same. An office, for example, might have many people sharing the same IP...I am personally not the author of the Conti post you are referring to, but I am certainly familiar with Ettore Conti, as there are schools, and streets in his name, as well as power plants. He is also famous, as he rebuilt (twice) a famous church: Santa Maria delle Grazie, which hosts Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper". He is remembered because of that, and him and some of his descendants are buried in the church with prominent visibility. The church was heavily bomber in both WWI and WWII. Of course if you have never been to Milan, or are interested in Italian history, you will most likely not know about him. 130.0.146.146 (talk) 21:57, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hard blocked

Block changed to hard (cannot create new accounts from IP address, cannot edit from IP address) due to block evasion. Instructions in the block message above still apply. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:17, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
