photos of govt ministers

Photos available in tn govt website are not in public domain. according to indian copyright law, govt retains the copyright of all its works. As we cant upload copyrighted pictures to wikipedia, we cant used them. i have asked the govt archives dept many times to release them to public domain, but have got no answer :-). But the pictures that were published in India before 1950 are in public domain and can be added to wikipedi using the "upload file" link in the left panel. Also the pictures you have taken can be uploaded. In both cases choose a proper copyright tag (for public domain india works it is {{PD-India}}) --Sodabottle (talk) 04:19, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

signature

i noticed you are using four apostrophies for signing. The sign syntax is four tildas. (or click the signature icon in the tool bar).--Sodabottle (talk) 17:29, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Great work

Great work with Ma Po si pictures Eric. One more step you have to do - documenting the permission. This can be done in two ways a) forwarding the email permission from the family as prescribed here - Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials#Granting us permission to copy material already online or b) Have the family put up a CC 3.0 notice in the blog itself.--Sodabottle (talk) 14:54, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Ma Po Sivagnanam.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Ma Po Sivagnanam.jpg, which you've sourced to http://maposi.blogspot.com/2010/08/blog-post_25.html. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy.
